About
I grew up with a love for math, science and the arts. I painted, I wrote poetry, I studied quantum mechanics for fun, I rode horses, and I explored the world around me. That passion took me to University of Waterloo where I completed a degree in mechatronics engineering, learned how to build robots, and started getting serious about triathlons.
I spent the next decade working in engineering and management consulting, leading IT strategy and design work for some of the largest hospital construction projects in Canada, including Michael Garron Hospital, New Edmonton Hospital Project, Trillium Health Partners, and The Ottawa Hospital. I also raced four Ironman triathlons, and was one of the top Ironman triathletes in Canada at the time. (Yeah, I’m exhausted reading that too.)
Throughout most of 2021 I was dealing with a chronic pain condition, and in 2022 I realized I was also extremely burnt out from stress and overwork. I have since transitioned into a thought leadership role as a Research Director in IT Strategy and Digital Transformation at Info-Tech Research Group. I lead research into best practices for innovation and digital strategy, and assist business and IT leaders from all over the world in transforming their organizations. I also write and speak about burnout, mental health and diversity in tech.
I live in Toronto, Ontario with my husband and two young kids, and enjoy gardening, art and endurance sports.
